I had an acne breakout right before the Junior Miss Pageant and I think that this may have contributed to my being cut out of the final ten. It may have been the fact that I’m five-two and a little clumsy, but I like to think that the acne was the cause of the Junior Miss elimination. I may have gotten the acne because I was under stress. The blemish disappeared once I found out that I was cut.

Cleaning the affected area with a mild soap or cleanser is an important part of acne care. When suffering from acne, there is often a temptation to use astringent cleansers. Such products are generally not recommended for irritated skin.

In some other cases, acne is caused when the pores are blocked or when the sebaceous glad itself is a victim of some infection. In order to work, acne cures must first target the underlying problem. An acne cure that targets the infection of the sebaceous glad for instance is unlikely to work in a case when the acne is a direct result of hair duct blockage. Like with any other illness, acne cures too must target and work on the root cause of the problem.
